The Custodian maintains assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training through general cleaning and upkeep.
Essential Functions:
- General cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying of trash, washing windows and cleaning bathrooms
- Maintain and clean janitor closets
- Maintain and clean visitor rooms for Brengle and other events
- Detail cleaning of brass throughout the campus
- Clean and polish the elevator threshold and cab
- Report all maintenance related issues to the Property Director
- Clean carpets throughout campus in the summer and as requested by supervisor
Experience:
A minimum of 3 months experience in facility janitorial maintenance.
Skills:
Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders, reach above shoulder level, crouch, push, pull and have near/far vision acuity.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals and solvents.
