Sandblaster Job Responsibilities Include
Sandblaster safely operates a grinder or air dynafile weighing up to 3 pounds while sitting or standing
Safely operate a fork truck and pass Forklift training
Manage work priorities and schedules
Inspect and maintain work area and equipment
Produce consistent and quality finish according to specification
Use micrometer and surface roughness tester to determine finish
Sandblast thin metals without warpage
Other duties as assigned in addition to this list
Sandblaster Required Education and Experience
1 to 2 years previous sandblasting experience
High school degree or GED
Ability to pass basic manufacturing and math skills tests
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Ability to reach over head for short durations and in front of body to hold or manipulate items and perform work. ex: items placed on a work table
Ability to stand for 30-45 minutes at a time and to kneel or squat for hard to reach places.
Ability to twist or bend at waist and ability to stoop or bend to perform work, to inspect work, or to pick up an object
Mobility in wrists, arms and elbows sufficient to wipe or polish a surface
Ability to see and inspect finish quality with or without corrective eye ware
Stamina to work 8 hours per day with occasional overtime required
No restrictions that would prevent the use of personal safety gear including safety glasses, dust mask, safety gloves, steel toe work shoes
The ability to wear a blasting hood with an approximate weight of 4 pounds during sandblasting booth duty
