Business Unit/Department Mission: Provides operational support outside of business hours and supervises the work of overnight Partners and any onsite vendors across the entire store, ultimately providing leadership in the absence of the GM and Directors.Essential Functions / Process responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)General Store Operations- Conduct shift walks to ensure resources are distributed appropriately, observe any potential shrink exposure, facility is secure, and relocates resources if necessary.- Know expectations of the conditions for each department throughout the store. Makes notes of any issues that need to be addressed, elevating issues to Operations Team Manager or Opening Manager (Operations Manager, GM/Director).- Responsible for monitoring and overseeing the performance of overnight Partners and being the point of contact for overnight vendors, ensuring work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Identify and discuss any issues with Operations Team Manager or Opening Manager to determine next steps.- Provides a thorough - shift hand off, - Responsible for communicating any issues that may occur on their overnight shift to the Opening Operations Manager or GM - Ensure Partners and Vendors are parking in the designated place - address and elevate issues as necessary.- Oversee performance of the store's security vendor (if applicable) during the overnight hours to ensure compliance with expectations. - Coordinates with night crew to hang and/or remove art-made/division event signage. Following up to make certain all work is completed according to safety and aesthetic expectations.- Proactively resolve issues with a sense of urgency. - Has a presence in the store and proactively builds relationships with overnight Partners and vendors to ensure there are no unwanted/unexpected instances with regard to safety, sanitation, equipment and general operations. - Handles Partners accidents and safety issues including emergency and serious scenarios.Maintenance- Oversees the work of any overnight Maintenance Technicians to ensure store conditions and cleanliness are kept at the high CM standards, ready for open in the morning. (I.e. bathroom conditions, floor care, trash conditions, etc.)- Monitor and identify any lighting issues (parking lot, outside store, inside store/cases, etc.) and take appropriate action to ensure replacement and/or repair. - Reports any supply needs (i.e. ph testers, chemicals, etc.) to Operations Manager or Operations Team Manager. - Responsible for reporting, documenting and tracking all store maintenance issues, facility and/or equipment.- Responsible for minor repairs - stocks and maintains a functional tool box for use by members of the maintenance team and others in the store. - First responder to overnight equipment issues- proactively troubleshoots and investigates the nature of the issue. Ensuring simple solutions have been exhausted (i.e. plugged-in), root cause analysis has been explored (i.e. breaker tripping, drains clogging due to inappropriate disposal, etc.). - Ensures all equipment is maintained in safe working condition overnight.Loss Prevention, Food Safety, & Sanitation- Knowledge of systems and processes to ensure cooler temps are maintained as appropriate levels- Prioritizes potential issues and determines the appropriate course of action or inaction. Parameters set by the GM and Operations Team Manager executed by the Hourly Coverage Manager during non-business hours.- Identifies shrink opportunities and takes immediate action to correct them and/or reports issues to GM for appropriate action.- Maintains store security overnight, store alarm system, key logs, and handles issues as they occur. Other- Other duties to include - covering Receiving back door security; analysis and evaluation of expense management; assisting other Managers with shrink opportunities, and other duties as necessary to ensure a clean, safe customer experience.Education and Experience preferred- Completion of Central Market University (CMU) or proven years of supervision experience and/or education from a college or technical school - preferably a combination of education and experience.- Ability to independently prioritize issues quickly and manage time and resources appropriately.- Preferred experience in a position responsible for handling sensitive issues, quick response situations, theft issues and other serious scenarios.- Ability to mirror the GMs Customer Service philosophy and bring the GMs vision of store conditions to life.- Ability to determine the appropriate course of action when elevating various issues from the DM level to the Operations Team Manager, Director and/or GM level. (i.e. vendor conduct/performance issues, operating issues, etc.)- Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple departments. - Ability to work without supervision and reflect the CM culture and protect business interest.- Ability to manage time effectively, knowing when and to what level to own potential issues and when to elevate issues to DM, Director and/or GM.- Knowledge and ability to interpret documents related to Store Operations, Food Safety & Sanitation and/or Equipment Maintenance.- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.Physical and Other Requirements- Exposed to moving mechanical parts; small, confined spaces; cleaning chemicals and airborne particles.- The noise level is moderate.- Lift moderately heavy loads up to 50 lbs. individually with potential for heavier loads when team-lifting.- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and squat.- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.- Ability to push/pull heavy loads of 75 lbs.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
