Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Laborer for our Oriskany Falls facility located in New York.

What You'll Get To Do

Laborers provide basic laborer duties, while maintaining safety for the work crew, motorists and pedestrians traveling through construction zones. These positions will work as needed on Public Works Projects in New York State. Laborers wage and supplemental benefits will be in accordance with the NYS Prevailing Wage Schedule for the County the work is being performed in.

• Shovel and rake materials (asphalt, stone)
• Set up and take down signs
• Operate small power tools (weed whacker, leaf blower, chain saw)
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
• You may be assigned as follows based on construction needs:

GROUP # A : Basic, Drill Helper, Flagman, Outboard and Hand Boats.

GROUP # B: Bull Float, Chain Saw, Concrete Aggregate Bin, Concrete Bootmen, Gin Buggy, Hand or Machine Vibrator, Jack Hammer, Mason Tender, Mortar Mixer, Pavement Breaker, Handlers of all Steel Mash, Small Generators for Laborers' Tools, Installation of Bridge Drainage Pipe, Pipe Layers, Vibrator Type Rollers, Tamper, Drill Doctor, Tail or Screw Operator on Asphalt Paver, Water Pump Operators(1-1/2" and Single Diaphragm), Nozzle (Asphalt, Gunite, Seeding, and Sand Blasting), Laborers on Chain Link Fence Erection, Rock Splitter and Power Unit, Pusher Type Concrete Saw and all other Gas, Electric, Oil and Air Tool Operators, Wrecking Laborer.

GROUP # C: Rock or Drilling Machine Operators (only where a separate air compressor unit supplies power), Acetylene Torch Operators, Asphalt Raker and Powderman.

GROUP # D: Blasters, Form Setters (prefab curb radius), Stone or Granite Curb Setters.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to work for long hours in all weather conditions
• Demonstrated mental alertness
• Neat and clean appearance
• A sense of responsibility for the safety of the public and the work crew
• Work Availability-Be available to work six days a week (Monday -Saturday) and occasionally on Sunday.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to work extended periods of time and perform duties in all climates and weather.
