This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $2,000 paid out in 2 installments (each installment paid at: 6 months and 1 year).

What You'll Get To Do
Do you pride yourself in being a jack-of-all trades? The 2nd Shift Plant Helper will be responsible for maintaining the plant areas, assisting where necessary in the production process, and assisting with maintenance tasks. This position reports to the Plant Foreman. Future responsibilities would include learning the operation of all on-site equipment, lubing and maintaining fixed plant equipment, learning heavy maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Responsible for housekeeping and general clean up. This includes heavy lifting and shoveling to maintain the plant area as well as greasing, belt splicing, changing head and tail pulleys, welding, fabrication work, general plant maintenance, operating equipment when necessary to assist production.
- Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions and report accidents or incident immediately.
- Will perform heavy maintenance when required.
What We Are Looking For
- Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of general labor and maintenance experience required
- Prior experience working in a construction environment highly desired
- MSHA Part 48 Certification a plus
- This position will work the various shifts as needed. Overtime and working on Saturday and Sunday will be required.
- Heavy lifting required
- Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment
- Equipment operation skills a plus
- Ability to work in varying weather types
- Ability to use shovel, broom, jackhammer, sweeper, forklift, bobcat and vacuum truck.
- Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
