What You'll Get To Do
- Manage the CAPEX plan (1 year, 3 year and 5 year plans) for the MU through collaboration with Area Managers and Plant Managers on development, execution and closure of CAPEX projects. Includes leading the management system for CAPEX. Provide support to plants in development of ideas, bidding, execution and system closure.
- Provide Management oversight and leadership on specific assigned CAPEX projects.
- Lead the local team in the development of Replant CAPEX. Participate in plant design. Work with engineering companies, support the corporate team.
- Support plants in continuous improvement activities ranging from quarry fleets to plant throughput, reliability and productivity (TPMH). Spend time with plant personnel on site delivering continuous improvement efforts. Ensure timely completion of Actions in Action Tracker.
- Lead MU in achievement of Plant Operating Model (POM) by working with each plant on gaps and actions driving improvements to meet POM objectives.
- Lead MU through digital evolution introducing concepts from the mine to the plant that drive modernization of our plants and processes by incorporating into CAPEX planning.
- Provide production analysis support to plants as part of established management cycle. Maintain simple approach of focusing on minimal KPI’s driving the maximum improvement in our operations.
- Provide technical support to operations for recurring and emergency issues.
- Participate in MU Leadership team and provide reporting support for meetings and activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably mechanical, electrical, mining, industrial.
- At least 5 years of relevant plant/operations leadership.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of crushers, screens, wash plants, conveying, mobile equipment, drilling and blasting.
- Ability to interpret geotechnical reports prepared by consultants.
- Strong business software skills including Microsoft Office, SAP, PLC’s, other modern digital tools.
- Track record of remaining current regarding improvements and innovation in the industry globally, resulting in a strong knowledge of current and emerging process, process measuring equipment, and cost optimization methods
- Experience creating and managing budgets and cost estimates of projects with budgets up to $5 million or more, and solid understanding of business financials.
- Strong organizational skills and capability to effectively coordinate and integrate the sub functions of the project team for the life of the project.
- Analytical, interpretative, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational influence skills.
- Self-Motivated and independently capable of determining when to travel to plants within the MU.
- Prior experience coordinating with Purchasing department
- Role operates in a plant manufacturing environment as well as a professional office environment. Plant manufacturing environment includes conditions involving moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
