Heidelberg Materials North America is the leading supplier of cement, aggregates, ready mix concrete, and asphalt. The Senior Business Manager role is based in Indianapolis, IN and reports directly to the VP, Finance-Midwest Region.
What you’ll get to do
• Support Midwest Region with financial and business analysis • Monitor and analyze operating results against budget and past performance, and provide senior management with high-level reports such as, ad-hoc analysis, and interpretation of performance • Responsible for the preparation of management reporting packages and presentations for senior management • Develop excellent relationships, and act as a resource to business leaders • Work closely with Regional and Corporate Finance and Shared Service organizations, ensuring efficient and effective financial processes in compliance with all policies, reporting requirements, and information requests • Provide financial planning, capital planning, reporting, and forecasting for business lines • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating results and action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment • Pro-actively engage in the preparation of Capex projects and develop financial models for business development projects; track capital project spending and timing against forecasts and budget to understand and report variance • Assist in developing strategic plans to achieve organizational objectives and ensure the safeguard of assets through the establishment and adherence to effective controls and procedures
Essential Experience and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting with 10 years’ financial/business analysis expertise • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with prior financial modeling experience, as well as knowledge of pivot tables, complex formulas, formatting, and data manipulation • Excellent written and oral communication skills • The ability to create and deliver compelling and clear presentations • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work independently • Strong ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and lead initiatives • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to constant change • Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment and tact as it relates to sensitive and confidential information • Committed and engaged with a strong work ethic; ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of the company • Internal and external customer and market management • High performance and results oriented • People management skills (i.e., performance management, team-oriented with the ability to influence others accordingly).
