What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Assistant position at Hein Electric Supply Co?
The IT Assistant will work closely with our IT Manager to provide ongoing support and maintenance for our IT users, devices, infrastructure, systems, applications & networks.
- Installing, configuring, monitoring, testing, and maintaining computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners, ups, cctv, Pbx & mobile phones.
- Responsible for security compliance in protecting infrastructure, edge devices and data.
- Configure and implement user access controls and identify access management systems.
- Responsible for maintaining and testing corporate backups.
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
- Providing technical support across the company’s 9 locations (this may be in person, over the phone or remote connection).
- Ensuring user queries or issues are captured, validated, and logged for further processing, consultation, or improvement.
- Ensuring that various types of information are communicated to users through the appropriate channels.
- Follow-up and communicate IT service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate and organized hardware inventory.
- Administer users and groups in Microsoft 365 (Azure AD, OneDrive, MFA, Teams, etc.)
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on all hardware equipment.
- Perform regular check-up and upgrades of software, firmware, and operating systems.
- Can work on cross-functional projects on an ad Hoc basis.
- Able to travel within a 20 miles radius to other locations.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to install and terminate ethernet cables as needed
- Able to work after office hours.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related education.
- Experience in supporting Windows Desktop and Server OS, Mac OS, MS365, VOIP, Network Switches (Cisco, Net Gear), Next Generation Firewalls (SonicWALL), IoT and mobile devices (IOs, Android).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- A , Net , Sec , Microsoft Certifications, ITIL or other IT certifications is desired.
- Strong knowledge and experience supporting general corporate applications.
- Ability to work based on IT best practices.
- Works independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to follow complex and unique processes and adapt to change.
