Controller, Service Line

The Controller, Service Line is a critical member of the Helios HVAC/R leadership team. This person is responsible for the leadership of the accounting team, including timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The controller is responsible for the design and execution of internal controls to safeguard the interests of the company and its stakeholders.The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in technical accounting and corporate finance, excellent leadership and organizational skills, team development skills and a keen attention to details and a focus on exceptional internal and external client service.

WHAT HELIOS NEEDS FROM YOU:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial and accounting matters.
• Manage all aspects of the month-end closing process, ensuring the general ledger is complete, materially accurate, and closed timely and in accordance with internal and external reporting requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a strong internal control environment while continuously improving the accounting processes and procedures.
• Analyze, consolidate, and prepare comments to financial reports for the business units within the vertical.
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Participate in the onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships across the business.
• Hire, develop, and retain a skilled and engaged accounting team.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years as a manager/controller.
• Proven experience managing a general ledger of a company and running a month-end close process from start to finish.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with process design and process re-engineering.
• Experience with systems implementation/integration.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language.
• Drive, energy, and the ability to work effectively in a hands-on action-oriented environment. 

PREFERRED:

• Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized public accounting firms.
• Experience with Private Equity ownership.
• Prior experience using SamPro software.
• Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel.

Helios' compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $140,000 annually in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Helios compensation may also include annual bonus, commissions, equity, sign-on payments, as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
