Preconstruction Engineer

We are currently looking for a Preconstruction Engineer to work with our preconstruction team to ensure effective bidding, scheduling, and project management of Helios' projects.

Responsibilities: 

• Work in conjunction with Preconstruction team to prepare accurate proposals for all projects
• Perform quantity take-offs for specific divisions/scopes of work
• Manage subcontractor solicitation process
• Build and maintain subcontractor relationships
• Prepare Bid Evaluation sheets
• Review project schedules and assist in preparing General Conditions Estimates
• Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to owner
• Maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists
• Maintain and develop historical data for unit prices
• Perform site visits, field surveys and other site analysis as required
• Perform basic 3d Modeling tasks using Revit or similar tools.
• Maintain and update costing databases

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, relevant internships will be considered
• Demonstrated knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices
• Knowledge of estimating and quantity takeoff software
• Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks and other BIM related tools
• Strong computer skills
• Self-starter who is comfortable working with a diverse team/
