Job Title :- HPC System Administrator

Location:- Columbia, MD

Required:- Active Secret Clearance

Candidates shall have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and have ten years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server-based IT enterprise.

Experience shall include installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or Linux based platforms. This experience shall include: creating, modifying and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files. Individual shall have a fundamental understanding of operating systems and be familiar with either UNIX or Linux commands or utilities at the user level.

Experience shall include the installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages. Individual shall be able to develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure. Individual shall be able to provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, email services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and Linux based systems.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates shall have experience with:

• Installation, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and administration of:
• Multi-vendor servers running numerous COTS, Open Source, and in-house applications to accommodate HPC Division IT support requirements
• Multi-vendor servers running Red Hat, CentOS or SUSE with direct attached or FC SAN storage consisting of SSDs and/or HDDs
• Enterprise commercial software such as Splunk, Centrify, NoMachine, or Santricity

• Distributing computing tools such as SLURM, LSF and/or Moab/Torque
• HPC cluster systems, HPC MPP systems, Front End servers of Special Purpose Devices (SPDs)
• Blade servers with FC/SAS/Network back end
• Different file systems such as Lustre, ZFS, GPFS, btrfs, XFS and ext3/4
• Testing during the purchase process of HPC systems include Pre-Factory testing, Factory testing, system integration and Acceptance testing
• Accepted professional certifications include but not limited to:
• valid RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification
• valid VMWare certification

Job Type: Full-time

• 8 hour shift
