Job Opening: Junior Financial Planner

Helmstar Wealth Management. Fast Growing, fee-based, Independent, Registered Investment Advisory Firm where the client’s strategic plan is the starting point for all we do. We help clients with detailed financial, tax and estate planning. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Planner to join our team (on-site in Boise, Idaho). The Junior Financial Planner will work closely with industry veteran, CFP & Partner, Joe Piscione, who will support, direct and mentor the Junior Planner. Joe is also planning to transition out of the business in 7 to 10 years and is looking for a potential successor. The Junior Planner will have the unique benefit of being trained and onboarded for 6 to 8 weeks with Aaron (the current Junior Financial Planner), who graduated with a master’s degree in financial planning from Utah Valley University. The Junior Planner will prepare materials for client meetings, support new client engagements, analyze and input financial data, and assist in the development of tailored financial plans. As Junior Planner is ready, additional responsibilities and client-facing opportunities can become available.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Joe and customer service to gather client information and assess financial needs and goals.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, investment portfolios, and retirement plans.
• Conduct research on investment products, market trends, and regulatory changes to support financial recommendations.
• Assist in the development of comprehensive financial plans, including budgeting, tax planning, estate planning, and risk management.
• Prepare presentations and reports for client meetings, summarizing financial analysis and recommendations.
• Provide exceptional client service by responding to inquiries and following up on action items.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, financial planning software, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree; preference given to those with degrees in financial planning, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in financial services
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling – eMoney experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passed the CFP exam, or interest in pursuing CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation required.
