Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. 1. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors
2. Takes out office garbage daily and places garbage bins out on street
3. Maintains a clean workshop, yard, and outside perimeter of building
4. Does office clean-up as needed between janitorial staff
5. Assists warehouse staff with unloading freight trucks, unloading shipments, and assisting with shipping when necessary
6. Use ladders to wash boats, find stored parts, and change light fixtures
7. Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas and reorganize yard or shop
8. Coils ropes on docks and ensures docks are free of debris and makes minor dock repairs as necessary
9. Sweep walks, remove garbage, and tidy yard and shop
10. Organizes and maintains fluid container and ensure pick up is scheduled
11. Reports any oil spills and cleans up immediately
12. Ensures yard filter is changed at least once a month
13. Uses pressure washer to clean boats and parts
14. Preps and paints parts for technicians
15. Kneels and lifts to assist technicians, clean boats, and weed yard
16. Operates forklift to move crates and boats
17. Drive to pick up/drop off parts, tools, or assist technician
18. Open and close up warehouses, containers, boats, and company vehicles
19. Ensure the safety and protection of the boats:
- Boat drain plugs are removed and drives are up in yard
- Ensures battery switches are off if not plugged into shore power or shore power is connected
- Boats covers and engine hatches are back on the boats and cabins are locked
- Checks for water in bilges and vacuums excessive water out
- Ensure boats are prepped for foul weather and cabins are dry
- Ties fenders to boats that are docked
- Assist shipping department with unloading shipments, packaging, and emptying freight trucks.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime.
Travel: From time to time they will need to drive to a service-call vessel.
Required Education and Experience:
- Janitorial or yard hand experience
- Valid driver's license and eligible to drive under our insurance
Preferred Education and Experience: 1. Boat yard experience 2. Forklift certified
