What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree Work Groundsman position at Helping Hand Tree Service?
Definition & Principal Duties:
The major emphasis of this position will be on assisting the arborists (tree trimmers) during tree trimming and removal options. Applicant will be required to run brush through a chipper, lift and move logs, rake and clean yards, operate chainsaws for ground operations (depending on experience level), and ensure overall ground process runs smoothly. While this position focuses heavily on assisting arborists you will be expected to perform other tasks related to arboricultural operation and equipment management. You will be working as a team member in a crew varying in size from 2 to 7 people.
Possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge and ability to safely operate and maintain chainsaws and other equipment weighing upwards of 45-50 pounds.
- Knowledge and ability to safely operate mechanical vehicles and equipment such as trucks, bobcats, stump grinders, chippers, grapple trucks, etc…
- Knowledge and ability to fully perform a daily pre-trip vehicle inspection report.
Customer relations and communication skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Colorado Commercial Driver’s License Class “B” or above with air brake endorsement (and ability to maintain said license by passing CDOT random drug testing).
- Previous experience as a groundsman
- CPR and First Aid certificate holders.
