The Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES) is a Health Information Organization (HIO) for the greater Los Angeles area. We seek a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) to join our rapidly growing organization to apply their clinical knowledge, informatics expertise, and quality measurement experience to support LANES clients in developing and implementing interoperable quality improvement use cases leveraging LANES advanced interoperability platform and clinical repository. This individual should have experience working in a clinical healthcare setting with expertise in applied clinical informatics and quality improvement.
The CIS will work with the LANES Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and acts as a liaison between LANES and the client’s clinical team to implement and adopt the data platform and clinical quality use cases. Demonstrating excellent customer service and physician orientation is a critical personal characteristic of this position.
This is a virtual home-based position in Los Angeles or Southern California. The CIS will be required to attend meetings in-person with clients or team meetings in the Los Angeles area on an as-needed basis, usually at least once per month.
The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $140,000 annually.
This is a full-time benefitted employee position. There is no independent contractor option. Employment is provided by Heluna Health.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the liaison and point of contact for LANES clients regarding clinical support and clinical use cases while communicating project status to all stakeholders frequently and regularly
- Serve as a clinical informatics subject matter expert in the areas of clinical quality measurement, reports, and dashboards
- Support LANES clinical support strategy with an emphasis on clinical quality metrics and outcomes
- Collaborate with clients to understand their priorities and needs; translate client’s needs into detailed use case requirements and develop scope of work for implementation
- Engage key individuals, clinicians, and executives to collaborate on and influence the design and development of use cases, data analysis, quality reports, and technology integration into the client’s workflow and processes
- Attend regular meetings with the LANES leadership team to understand business objectives and develop a prioritized list of clinical support initiatives with supporting use case analysis, KPI, and ROI for evaluation
- Provide training and support to clients; develop end-user training materials, FAQs, quick reference guides, webinars, and “Tips and Tricks”
- Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers by being proactive, responsive, and encouraging teamwork
- Utilize widely accepted project management methodology to track assigned projects while effectively managing deadlines, communication, training, rollout, and post-go-live assessments
- Support the adoption of Health Information Exchange and Population Health through data-driven initiatives and measuring progress and outcomes. Assist with data quality improvement plan by establishing a baseline, data collection, and evaluation.
- Lead the transition of innovative ideas from pilot to implementation and share best practices across all sites.
- Proactively resolve issues, address concerns, identify potential risks, and improve overall processes and outcomes of clinical use case initiatives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Master’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or relevant experience
- Clinical experience or operational experience in healthcare organizations in quality, care management, or analytics roles required
- Experience in healthcare informatics and quality measures (eCQM, RAF, HEDIS, NCQA) preferred
- Experience collaborating with and building consensus with diverse teams
- Experience in data analytics comprehension
- Experience leading multi-stakeholder or business development meetings
- Experience giving presentations to panels and large groups
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
- A valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
- Successful background clearance
