Duties:
The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the day-to-day functions associated with being a CF Operator with Architectural Welding. To qualify, an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
Produce product as described in the shop order
Recognize repeat customer orders and identify specific customer requirements
Maintain each press according to maintenance procedures and diagnose and perform routine preventive maintenance
Accept responsibility for all press tooling, including tool service, maintenance and set-up
Check raw material for adherence to job requirements and detect improper or defective material
Adhere to all quality control/assurance procedures
Identify and separate all scrap alloys properly
Select proper die and punch combo
Select and apply proper lubrication
Detect when a tool needs to be serviced
Compare shop drawings to shop orders for accuracy
Detect incorrect setup of program and advise programmer
Responsible for keeping work area clean and free of debris
Posses the ability to set up and operate CNC Press Brake
Construct jigs and fixtures as required
Weld on all types of metals
Perform difficult welding processes
Setup, layout and perform welding operations on fixtures and assemblies
Perform welds with gas, electric, carbon arc or braze
Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to size and shape
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade/vocation certification preferred
Ability to pass a basic math skills test
1-3 years' experience operating CNC equipment
Requires ability to read a ruler, micrometer and set calipers
Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
Ability to program basic shop orders
Ability to call up existing programs in Tops 300 (in-house system) to process jobs
Be able to hold extremely light tolerances and weld, grind/polish to an extremely high cosmetic standard
Requires the ability to weld using processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW
Requires ability to pass DT Testing, and read welding symbols and blueprints
Ability to certify/qualify in at least one of the following: ASME, S.S. Plate Position (2-F) or Aws Pipe Position (2-G)
2 years' experience in cosmetic welding in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Qualifications Desired:
Technical or trade school coursework
2 years of mechanical or machine operation experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
