H&M is also a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the construction industry is currently recruiting for a talented individual to work in the company’s Fleet Department at our Sacramento, CA location, to work within the Tools Group overseeing inventories, tool acquisition and coordination of the movement of materials and equipment to our Northern California operating groups.
The best-fit candidate is one with a construction and/or warehousing background who can quickly understand work processes and tracking systems, works well in a team environment, and is adept at problem-solving and developing ideas for increased efficiency. This position also requires interaction with geographically dispersed semi-autonomous groups throughout the US.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively and efficiently procure and move necessary tools to operations groups in order to meet the demand of various projects at multiple locations. (50%)
- Establish methodologies for tracking and establishing minimum inventory limits for key tools and Personal Protective Equipment to avoid any shortfalls or stockouts when items are requested from Operations. (20%)
- Work closely with Procurement and A/P departments to ensure vendors are meeting established delivery Terms and Conditions. (10%)
- Build processes for tools and equipment that follow Plan, Do, Check, Act elements and A3 Thinking. (5%)
- Promote and facilitate an organized and efficient approach to inventories of tools and PPE. (10%)
- Lead by example, by continually looking to improve processes and promote the benefits of Tool Department process improvements, and capture results achieved. (5%)
Qualifications:
- Work experience in Construction, Warehousing, and/or purchasing/logistics environment is preferred
- 2-year Associate degree preferred.
- Knowledge of Safety working programs (OSHA or equivalent) or work experience/certifications, a plus.
- Track record in goal setting, solving problems, and leading change, is required.
- Computer skills – proficiency with MS Office applications Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
