In this position, you will:
- Appear at probation hearings and communicate with criminal justice partners regarding probation violations for but not limited to PRC, Inter/Intra State, and Supervised Release.
- Represent the Agent of Record by providing recommendations for a fair and swift resolution to the violation.
- Prepare and/or update probation violations when appropriate.
- Communicate to the Agent of record via chronos, email or other forms of communication as appropriate.
- Supervise felony administrative caseload.
- One of the following:
- Associates degree in any field and four or more years of relevant full-time equivalent paid experience with clients served by the justice system or human services.
- Bachelor's degree in non-related field and two or more years of relevant full-time equivalent approved, related paid or volunteer experience with clients served by the justice system or human services.
- Bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, law enforcement, education, or a related field, and one or more years of full-time equivalent paid or volunteer work experience with clients served by the justice system or human services.
- Master's degree or higher in sociology, social work, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, law enforcement, education, or a related field; including the completion of a supervised clinical field work training/internship (if required by degree program).
- Note: The Evidence Based Practice Corrections Professional Certificate may be substituted for one year of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Evidence Based Practices, differing supervision models, and risk assessment tools.
- Ability to:
- Express ideas clearly in written and verbal communications.
- Establish and maintain rapport with colleagues, attorneys, the Bench, advocates, the Clerk’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office, the Adult Correctional Facility, and outside resource providers.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with minimal supervision, independent judgment, discretion, and personal initiative.
- Multi-task while recognizing priorities and meeting established deadlines.
- Effectively interact with individuals from social, economic, and culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Experience navigating numerous computer programs and systems (CSTS, MNCIS, MGA, Statewide).
- An effective work ethic, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Personal organization and time management skills.

Under facility licensing requirements, positions at the Juvenile Detention Center are required to undergo a Department of Human Services Background Study (MS 245C.13). Convictions for certain crimes will have an effect on your ability to be hired according to the disqualification schedule listed in Minnesota Statute 245C.15. Individuals convicted for any level of Criminal Sexual Conduct are disqualified from being hired into any position within the DOCCR under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Other past involvement with the criminal court system will not automatically disqualify you from working at the DOCCR; individual circumstances are reviewed and evaluated confidentially.
