What are the responsibilities and job description for the PTA PRN position at Hennis Care Centre of Dover?
Hennis Care Centre of Dover is looking for an educated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to work on a PRN basis on Saturdays and occasionally assist during certain weekdays for absent staff on vacation.
As a PTA your goal will be to help residents improve their mobility and move forward. You will work closely and under the direction of a physical therapist, treating residents with medical problems or other conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities.
We are a 4th generation family-owned and operated organization. We feature both rehab and transitional therapy services in-house.
Responsibilities
- Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner
- Instruct and counsel residents effectively in exercises
- Identify resident's needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy for individual differences
- Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services
- Participate in patient status judgments
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge
Skills
- Proven working experience as physical therapist assistant
- Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices and standards
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
- Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
- License to practice
- Associates in PTA
Availability
- Saturdays
- Occasionally on certain weekdays
