This person will be able to blood and prepare patient specimens, and also be able to take patient vitals and room patients. This position will be a float position and work in multiple locations. The primary work location will be at Paris Henry County Clinic. Secondary work positions include St. Thomas pulmonology. A minimum of two days per week is required.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
High school diploma of GED
EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Phlebotomy course and certification is preferred
On the Job or formal training as a medical assistant is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Ability to draw blood.
Ability to take patient vitals and chief complaint.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations as would be required through completion of high school.
Ability to read and follow written instructions as would be required through completion of high school.
Ability to communicate with coworkers and patients
Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of workflow without close supervision.
Prepared by education, training or work experience to work with age specific populations including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients/customers preferred.
Skilled in performing venipuncture as might be acquired through completion of a phlebotomy course or equivalent experience.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:
Phlebotomy Certification is not required, but desirable
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is not required, but desirable
