HFC presents an opportunity for a Temporary Program Lead, College Bound – The Hawk Advantage Summer ProgramThe Academic Catch-Up Program supports Henry Ford College’s efforts to combat learning loss among recent high school graduates who experienced interruptions to in-person learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Program Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating all program activities in accordance with the MOU and grant guidelines and timelines. This position requires collaboration with key staff and faculty in Academic Affairs, Admissions & Recruitment, Student Services, the Finance Office, and other internal and external partners.The positions will be supported by the Director of K-12 Relations and the Director of Admissions & Recruitment.The summer program, College Bound – The Hawk Advantage, will run two 3-week sessions for incoming first-year college students of various ages.Session I: Monday – Thursday, July 8 – July 25, 2024Session II: Monday – Thursday, July 29 – August 15, 2024
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. PRELIMINARY QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of five years teaching experience. Experience related to education grants or special funded programs with demonstrated professional experience related to the position required. EXPERIENCE: Experience in collaboration, project management, communications, event planning, data management, Microsoft applications and grants management. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing successful programs within academia or workforce development and leading cross-functional teams. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with a strong outcomes-oriented focus and collaboratively with other departments of the College. Must be able to analyze tasks and data, prepare summaries and reports, and utilize spreadsheets. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Must have strong planning and organizing skills, written and verbal skills, and the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Dates: May 20, 2024 – August 22, 2024 SCHEDULE/HOURS: Working hours prior to program start date (July 8, 2024) and end date (August 15, 2024) vary and may include occasional evenings and weekends. Flexible days/hours prior to summer sessions. During summer sessions, schedule will be on campus Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and evening virtual availability Monday – Thursday 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office/classroom conditions. One time Stipend – $12,150.00
