GENERAL SUMMARY:

1. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Cardiology team in the Cath Lab. The successful candidate will collaborate with interventional cardiologists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac/electrophysiology procedures. Key Responsibilities include:

1. Patient Assessment and Evaluation:

• Perform thorough pre-procedural assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic tests.

• Assess patients for procedural risks and contraindications and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team.

• Provide post-procedural care and monitoring for patients in the recovery area.

• Manage post-procedural complications and emergencies promptly and effectively, in collaboration with the healthcare team.

• Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.

• Provide instructions for post-procedural care and medication management and address any concerns or questions.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including procedural notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to Cath Lab procedures.

• Contribute to the development of evidence-based protocols and guidelines for cardiac care.

The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current BLS.

Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.

• Must be a Masters prepared Registered Nurse who has graduated and taken the board certification within their chosen specialty -OR- Requires a Bachelor's Degree; completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program; licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Must have no encumbering circumstances, which would prevent credentialing by the Henry Ford Medical board.
• Requires licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse -OR- Physician Assistant and be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan.
