The primary responsibility of this position is to inspect the facility, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards. Work with the EHS Manager in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental and sustainability programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local agencies and Company policies and HPS EHS requirements
Formulate/organize/conduct in-house training and programs on safety, emergency response, fire, chemical management, EHS procedures, first aid and related topics on a regular basis.
Reinforce safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set forth by the Company.
Identify, evaluate and work as a team to correct hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
Audit physical conditions and work practices as they relate to Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures. Work with supervisors to develop corrections for identified hazards. Document and implement corrective actions in the EHS database.
Review and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and conditions to determine root causes.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Near Miss programs, accident reporting, trainings, hazard analyses, policies, PPE, and procedures and recommend changes.
Maintain customer safety portals with accurate and current information.
Maintain and post EHS KPIs, OSHA logs and other EHS records as required per policy and/or law.
Conduct new employee occupational health, safety, and environmental orientations.
Conduct /organize Safety meetings/trainings.
Assist in the development and implementation of safety incentives.
Assist with environmental media permit and non-permit reporting and data tracking such as air emissions, material throughputs, water usages, hazardous and non-hazardous waste documentation, Tier 2 reporting, TSCA reporting, etc.
