The Front of House (FOH) Food & Beverage Supervisor will ensure a world class guest experience is delivered by interacting with guests, supporting the management team and service staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure a positive, warm, professional, and unique dining experience for all clientele
- Assisting the Food & Beverage Manager and/or General Manager in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality service standards
- Ensuring food and beverages are being served in a professional and timely manner
- Monitor set up and maintenance of department to ensure all side work is complete
- Monitor occupancy to ensure proper staffing of FOH and communication with BOH staff
- Execute service programs as set forth by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or General Manager
- Oversee POS (Silverware, etc.) to ensure accuracy and function for service staff and BOH
- Have thorough knowledge of Heritage House Resort & Spa, hotel amenities, property grounds, local restaurants, travel destinations, local events, and transportation to ensure guests and staff are involved and informed
- Be present in the Bar & Restaurant FOH at all times, touching the tables and assuring quality service
- Supervise FOH line staff in the performance of their job duties
- Ensure seamless service, including supporting and carrying out duties of line staff at times of high volume and employee absence
- Collaborate with Sales & Events Dept to preview, plan and carryout catered events
- Collaborate with Human Resources on the recruiting, onboarding, coaching and accountability of all FOH F&B staff.
- Responsible for completion of tipping, payroll processing spreadsheets and reporting
- Assist with purchasing and monitoring of inventory, working with Bartender to ensure adequate inventory levels
- Conduct month end inventory and reporting in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by helping enforce policies and standards set within CA guidelines and the Employee Handbook
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Provide and receive constructive criticism well
- Must have the ability to independently solve issues that arise during service
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of POS and Microsoft Suites
- Continual interest in staying up to date with food, wine, and fine dining trends
- Flexible availability and able to work holidays, weekends, and weekdays
- Well-groomed, professional, and clean image
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, college or secondary education preferred
- Ability to speak English required with the ability to speak or learn Spanish is preferable
- Must have at least 1 year of Bar & Restaurant supervisor experience (with fine dining experience desirable)
- Ability to bar tend, and back-up bartender when needed, desirable
- Valid CA driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Requires repetitive motions such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing and visual acuity
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis, and have the ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $22 - $25 per hour, depending on experience
