Tax Associate

Heritage Wealth Advisors, a Richmond, VA based Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm, is seeking a Tax Associate for the firm's Pittsburgh, PA office location. The Tax Associate will be responsible for participating in the tax planning, consulting, and compliance process for a variety of clients, including entrepreneurs, executives, partnerships, closely held businesses, estates, and trusts. You will be working directly with clients on complex and challenging returns. The Tax Associate is responsible for servicing existing and new client relationships in the areas of tax preparation, strategigic tax planning and financial and estate planning. During the off season, you will have the ability to gain experience in the financial planning and investment management sides of our business.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual, trust, gift, corporate, and foundation tax returns and projections

• Prepare estimated payments and other necessary tax planning
• Research and respond to tax notices
• Review estate documents including wills, trusts, and insurance policies
• Prepare estate flow charts
• Assist Director in the training and supervision of Tax Interns.
• Prepare for client meetings and client proposals
• Prepare tax projections and use financial planning tools in wealth planning engagements.
• Proactively engage in firm wide initiatives developing tax services, building firm relationships, supporting business development and client retention activities

Must Haves:

• Working knowledge of tax preparation; preferably 2 years of experience in the wealth management, finance or accounting industry
• Experience working with high income/high net worth individuals
• Self starter who is motivated, analytical, organized, team oriented and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, economics
• Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office
