This is a project to support all Operating Companies of our client as we move all operating companies to a single platform of salesforce. The Software Test Engineer will work as a member of the CONNECTED Project Team. CONNECTED is a suite of software applications being developed on Salesforce.com platform.
Work as a key member of the delivery team to understand requirements and technical solutions under test.
Identify, plan, design and develop tests for functional testing that will enable the team to quickly deliver quality solutions using agile development and testing practices
• Perform functional testing, integration testing and regression testing.
• Participate in user story mapping, sprint planning, estimation and feature walk-throughs.
• Document any defects found during the daily testing activities and track them until they are resolved.
• Participate in monthly release activities and in post release support activities.
Responsible for ensuring that the customer/user receives the product that meets their needs. The QA Analyst works with the customer/user as well as the technical teams to identify issues, assess root causes, and propose solutions. The QA Analyst then transmits the information to the appropriate parties as actionable requirements. Throughout the software development lifecycle process, the analyst is the user advocate – answering questions, working with the technical and project management teams, ensuring that requirements are interpreted consistently, and confirming that the customer receives what has been requested.
It is critical that the Quality Assurance Analyst be able to understand the systems in place and how they interoperate on a logical level.
• 6-8 years of experience testing web applications including a broad range of technical skills; Microsoft Technologies preferred
Experience testing on a salesforce implementation

What does a typical day look like?
Working closely with rest of the delivery team (developers, testers, BAs) to execute on the test plan, testing the applications as described above.

Essential Functions:
• Performs tests in adherence to organization’s testing methodology and processes.
• Design test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
• Work with the Developers, Testers and Analysts to understand the specific needs of the project/product for testing.
• Create level of effort (LOE) and duration estimates for own assigned work and review the LOEs of other test engineers. Proactively manage activities to meet those expectations.
• Identify Test Cases; participate in test case review/discussions; participate in user story mapping, project walk-throughs, sprint planning and estimation.
• Prepare Testing artifacts as needed, such as Test Plan, Test Strategy, RTM’s, etc.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively and in terms that can be understood by all parties involved.
• Develop testing scripts to automate test cases where possible.
• Assist team by supporting the Continuous Integration (CI) environment
