Job Overview
HG Doctors, LLC, is looking for a Medical Assistant with Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) Certification to join our expanding primary care team in our Coral Springs location. The ideal candidates will provide patients with high-quality treatment, diagnostic services, and be an intuitive healthcare professional whose clinical skills are only matched by their concern for their patients. The person in the MA/BXMO role will be responsible for providing clerical, X-Ray, medical & diagnostic support to our team of physicians and providing healthcare services that meet state and national standards for caregiving. The right candidate will have a passion for providing world-class medical care to patients and will enjoy working closely with patients, and their families. The MA/BXMO must also demonstrate the ability the operate independently and effectively collaborate with management, internal/external healthcare professionals and other staff.
Medical Assistant/BXMO responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
- Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to perform blood draws and prepare specimens for shipment to lab.
- Ability to assist physician with prescription refills.
- Gain full working knowledge of, and demonstrate efficiency on, electronic medical records system.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
- Saves doctors’ time by helping with office procedures.
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical and regulatory procedures to ensure patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
- Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the
Center Manager or designee on duty.
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about coordination of care.
- Schedules patients’ appointments and assists with preparing charts, patient registration and consent forms.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with all legal regulations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
- Record complete, timely and legible medical records.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, and outside activities to promote and enhance personal development and awareness of the medical facility within the community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Medical Assistant/BXMO
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
- Responsible and trustworthy.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, attention to detail, compassion, approachable, and patient.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Florida State licensure as Basic X-Ray Machine Operator.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification preferred.
- 2 years medical office experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and medical terminology.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR and AED)
