Position: Quality Manager

Position Summary
To provide overall leadership and direction to the Quality department to attain a high level of quality, customer service, and productivity in a safe and efficient manner. To ensure the effective development and implementation of new process technologies, process control system improvements, and capability utilization.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction and training of the Lab and Lab personnel in the testing of raw, in-process and finished goods using numerous testing and inspection methods.
Investigate and promptly respond to customer quality complaints and ensure the proper action is taken to correct
Management representative and responsible for maintaining ISO9001/ISO14001 systems.
Chair ISO management review meetings and author management review reports.
Lead auditor, host customer/3rd party audits and responsible for completing customer surveys.
Maintain and revise internal incoming, outgoing, and analytical test procedures.
Generate and maintain PPAP submissions per customer request on recipes as needed.
Provide leadership, quality system, safety, or technical related training, as required.
Direct supplier CAR program, raw material rejections and claim recovery from suppliers.
Direct internal nonconforming and corrective action programs.
Drive continual quality improvement focused on improved customer satisfaction, exceeding quality objectives
Communicate with suppliers and customers on pertinent quality related matters.
Complete and document Performance Management for department personnel.
Interface with management on some new equipment evaluations, purchases, and installations.
Travel to other HEXPOL locations or to customers may be required.
Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or other technical areas. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Seven (7) years of leadership/supervisory experience in a quality position, manufacturing environment, preferred.
Five (5) years of experience in the polymers industry, preferred
Knowledge of Six Sigma.
ISO 9001/ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient computer/systems skills – MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
Ability to manage, coach and develop Associates.
Ability to interact well with all personality types in a leadership role.
Strong cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Ability to handle personal and confidential information.
Physical Requirements – the physical requirements of the Quality Manager position required in an 8-hour workday.

Physical demands for this position include the ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday depending on the tasks at hand. This position requires sitting and viewing a computer screen for periods of time. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. may be required.
