Director of Taxation

Position Summary:

The Director of Taxation oversees and manages all aspects of taxation within HCF Family of Companies. All tasks require a high degree of confidentiality.

Position Responsibilities for Taxation Director:

* Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
* Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization and its subsidiaries.
* Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the organization's operations.
* Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including financial planning, acquisitions, and sales.
* Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting and compliance.
* Oversee tax audits and inquiries from government agencies, including the preparation of responses and negotiation of settlements when necessary.
* Monitor and review financial transactions to identify potential tax issues and opportunities for tax savings.
* Participate in strategic planning initiatives to support the organization's long-term growth and profitability goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred, and experience in tax accounting. Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and identify tax implications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate tax concepts to non-tax professionals. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a challenging environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
