What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Leader position at HFI, LLC?

Position Summary: The Line Leader will be responsible for leading the daily activities of a production work cell(s). They will set up the production line before the start of shift working with material handlers to ensure all materials required to complete production are available. At the start of shift the Line Lead will verify all production associates are positioned as required for production to commence and if personnel shortages exist will work with the Production Supervisor to locate a Multifunctional Operator to fill the spot. As production is run, they will ensure part quality meets customer expectations using all tools and samples available stopping the production line should persistent problems exist. This position is also responsible for production schedule adherence. At the completion of each order ensure production/scrap is properly reported. The Production Line Lead ensures all associates are working safely and always maintains a 5S work environment. Duties & Responsibilities: Read, understand, apply & perform specific job functions as outlined in the operation standards. Train associates to the Operation Standard and proper build process. Ensure adherence to training procedure (trainees wear training vests and their work is inspected prior to shipment to customer). Perform first piece verification at start of shift and as required throughout shift. Understand staffing expectations as defined by Production Supervisor. Understand scrap and production targets and work to meet them. Report production/scrap and validate its accuracy throughout the shift. Host start of shift meetings to communicate topics related to safety, quality and delivery from prior day. Maintain production boards and communicate metrics to associates daily through start of shift meeting. Participate in problem solving (white board) meetings.   Understand key quality tools, and communicate requirements to associates (My QA’s, Quality Alerts, Limit Samples, Inspection Sequence, etc.) to ensure quality parts are produced that meet our customers’ expectations. Stop production line and notify supervisor if repeat quality issues exist. Report safety concerns and/or incidents to Supervisor immediately. Report shortages of necessary tools and equipment to Supervisor immediately. Perform daily equipment validation and testing. Troubleshoot process/equipment errors to return line to full production. Validate the work performed by the team to ensure the quality of the product. Perform part to label verification on all product produced. Track production schedules and communicate with both the area Supervisor and Production Controller on all variances to schedule. Communicate with area material handlers to ensure proper materials are brought to the floor for production. Identify and communicate any issues to Supervisors immediately. Maintain 5S within the work cell. Provide accurate reporting of associate time to Supervisor. Fill out, as required, all preventive maintenance checklists. Other duties as determined by supervision/management. Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: A willingness and ability to work overtime as required with limited notice Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, producing a quality product Follow and promote company policies and procedures Maintain an attendance record which reflects positively on position Promote safe work practices and supports HFI safety initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment within the automotive industry. The individual must possess strong leadership qualities, a technical acumen, have demonstrated problem solving/analytical skills and excellent communication skills.     Education/Training: The Production Line Lead position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of comparable work experience. Familiarity with the automotive industry is a plus.

Salary : $33,700 - $42,700
