Overview

If you are a talented, ambitious design professional with a passion for Healthcare, HGA has an exciting opportunity for you! HGA's San Francisco office is looking for an experienced Architectural Project Designer to join their Healthcare Practice. HGA offers challenge, recognition and personal visibility with an opportunity to be part of great projects! This position will work closely with the Design Principal and Project Manager developing architectural design concepts, presentations, and documentation in a manner that is responsive to the client's needs, budget, and deadlines, consistent with HGA architectural procedures, standards and quality expectations, on Healthcare, Institutional, and/or Corporate projects.

In this role you will
    develop a thorough understanding of projects' design philosophy;
  1. provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept, including design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of the project work;
  2. seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documents to support these solutions;
  3. actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project;
  4. contribute to the preparation of design documents and leads the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation;
  5. advance the production of schematic, design development and construction documents drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent;
  6. maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems;
  7. review shop drawings, material samples and CD's for conformance with design;
  8. perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI's, RFP's, change orders, etc.);
  9. prepare reports and specifications; review completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations;
  10. execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.);
  11. establish architectural budget, task schedule and other components of the project work plan in collaboration with Project Manager;
  12. implement meeting objectives, facilitates meetings, and provides meeting notes documentation;
  13. maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required; and
  14. perform other duties as assigned.
You will need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's degree preferred
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • 5-15 years of experience working on small to large-scale project types required
  • Strong graphics skills are an essential
  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D Max, SketchUp and other industry accepted software
  • Expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed
Salary Information

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $97,100 - $141,200
