Overview
Provide operations support for the Hospital’s information systems and its users. Provides educational, and related hardware and software support for the Hospital’s Information Systems. Supports the Hospital’s LAN/WAN hardware, security, software, and resources to provide the most optimum stability and data integrity. Reports directly to Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities
- Responsible for system management and coordination for the hospital information system on an ongoing basis. Coordinates system activities with outside vendors as needed. Presents analyses/recommendations regarding projects and systems use and management as needed
- Prepares Information Systems annual budget. Plans Information Systems Capital budget by date established by Financial Services, and provides recommendations for other departments on any computer-related expenditure (hardware or software).
- Supervises information systems staff as needed which involves instructing; assigning and reviewing work; planning; maintaining standards; coordinating activates; allocating personnel; acting on employees problems; selecting new employees; approving transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions and discharges; and recommending salary increases. Completes employee performance evaluations according to timeframe established by Human Resources.
- Performs systems analysis and problem solving as needed. Develops and implements solutions within timeframe established during analysis.
- Evaluates and assesses hospital information system needs. Interacts and communicates with a variety of individuals and groups including information systems staff, hospital administration, department managers and supervisors, physicians, vendors, hospital staff, etc. as needed.
- Responsible for short and long range planning of departmental activities and functions.
- Receives, reviews and processes various reports and records including system output, status reports, clinical information, financial information, vendor contracts, sales records, etc. as needed.
- Maintains supports for report writing functions. Provides instructions and aids Support Coordinators in completion of reports
- Provides periodic training classes for end users in the use of Magic Office and other applications as needed. Responsible for lesson development
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or engineering, or equivalent experience. Technical certification in the following areas is preferred: AS/400 I series operations, Windows PC and server trouble shooting. Network IP troubleshooting, Novell Network Administration.
Minimum of 3 years of previous systems analyst experience within a Health Care facility
