Research Coordinator - experienced - Clinical Research Fellow

The Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute (HHRI) has an opening for a Clinical Research Fellow to support the research of Dr. Behnam Sabayan and the Cerebrovascular Care and Brain Health Research Lab being conducted Hennepin Healthcare's HCMC.

This position requires an onsite presence on the HCMC campus located in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Research Fellow will serve as a clinical researcher and project coordinator with active roles in scientific writing, communication, planning, preparing research-related documents such as IRB submissions and patient recruitment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• • Research Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute clinical research projects, including protocol development and data management.
  • Scientific Writing: Prepare high-quality manuscripts, abstracts, and reports for publication and presentations at conferences.
  • IRB Submissions: Develop and submit protocols and related documentation for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review and approval.
  • Patient Recruitment and Management: Develop strategies and materials for recruiting study participants; maintain relationships with participants to ensure retention and protocol adherence.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Familiarity with data analysis using appropriate statistical tools and methods; interpret results for publication and presentations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals; maintain clear and consistent communication.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all research activities comply with institutional and federal regulations, including ethical research standards.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Education/Experience:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be completion of a Bachelor's degree a in a related field with 2-3 years of prior experience in clinical research. Degrees such as MSc, MPH, or MD are a plus.

Skill, Knowledge & Ability (SKA):

• Requires interaction with a diverse population
• Prior clinical research experience, preferably in neurology or related fields.
• Proficiency in scientific writing and experience with IRB submissions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with patient recruitment for clinical studies.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
