Description
Lead design with customers and suppliers for ECU and electronic component development.
Support electro-mechanical interfacing at customer and internal.
Essential Functions:
- Understand an electrical schematic diagram on vehicle service manual and modify it to integrate ECU and electro-mechanical component in vehicle mockup for demonstration purpose.
- Design and prototype an interface circuit, switch box and harness to conduct in-house tests.
- Develop software for system validation testing of automotive and non- automotive products.
- Develop ECU HW and SW specifications, schematics, board layout, and validation test plans with supplier.
- Lead/Conduct HW and SW design reviews, WCCA reviews and EMC reviews with customers.
- Develop relationships with key customer personnel.
- Root-cause closure system (power lift gate/sliding door/window with anti-pinch) functionality issues in vehicle.
- Support Electrical Engineering activities of new business quotation process.
- Self-motivated to work independently as required.
- Work within a team environment.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and assignments utilizing prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Work with Customers and Suppliers to meet/exceed expectations.
- Performs other duties and tasks as necessary from time to time.
Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:
- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or engineering technology or equivalent field.
- 5 years hands-on Electrical Engineering experience in automotive industry or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of DC motor control.
- Experience in electrical schematic diagram design.
- Experience with C/C and assembly language.
- Capable of using general electrical equipment such as oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
- Experience in communication bus, CAN, SAE J1850 and LIN.
- Experience in LABVIEW, OrCAD, Vector tools, emulators, and/or Visual C .
- Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives and printers.
- Periodic factory visits with noise from manufacturing equipment.
- Periodic travel to other company operations, customers and/or suppliers.
