What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL CONTROL MANAGER position at Hi-Temp?
Overview: Manages all segments of the material control function
Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Negotiates pricing and long-term agreements with suppliers
2. Monitors buyers to ensure purchase orders are placed and followed up on with vendors and to ensure on-time delivery of materials and supplies
3. Audits and approves purchase orders for raw materials, shop suppliers and outside process items
4. Evaluates supplier performance
5. Monitors planners to ensure manufacturing orders are released to production on time
6. Directs, controls, monitors, and provides managerial guidance to Material Control Team
7. Assists Supervisors with performance evaluations, employee relations, and mediates when necessary
8. Evaluates and completes performance evaluations
9. Participates in interview and hiring process
10. Responsible for the accountability and disciplinary action of team
11. Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned
12. Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety rules
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years experience purchasing material, material control, production control, preferably in an Aerospace environment
College Degree preferred
· Proficient in MS Office
· Excellent math skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface and communicate with customers and all levels of Company employees
· Supervisory experience
· Ability to travel to customer locations, as needed
· MRP experience (MAPICS MRP experience a plus)
· APICS certificate a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,221.00 - $121,924.00 per year
