POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS seeks a Legal Coordinator to support the legal, compliance, risk management and procurement work of the Office of General Counsel (OGC). The successful incumbent shall be fully bilingual in Spanish and English, hold at least a Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) and possess excellent administrative, communications and research skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with registration of HIAS in foreign countries.
- Supports regulatory and governance compliance.
- Supports risk management.
- Assists with contracts.
- Assists with investigations.
- Conducts research.
- Coordinates translation and interpretation in English and Spanish.
- Designs organograms, charts and dashboards.
- Formats and prepares documents.
- Organizes electronic files.
- Assists with OGC procurements and follows-up on payment processing.
- Coordinates calendaring and scheduling.
- Coordinates travel planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years of professional experience.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required; fluency in French preferred.
- Ability to travel internationally to complex operating environments.
- Results-oriented with strong customer service skills and ability to operate at all levels of an organization in a highly complex environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage difficult situations with tact and good judgment.
- Judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
- Self-starter who is detailed-oriented.
- Team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
