Essential Responsibilities:
• Supervise and ensure the safety, development, growth, and well-being of students/campers
• Engage, demonstrate, and participate with students during sports activities
• Assist with set up and break down of sports equipment
• Follow and support the Program Director’s instructions and schedule throughout the camp
• Closely follow all safety protocols
• Communicate feedback or areas for improvement to program coordinator/leads
• Coaches are responsible for improving the athletic skills and abilities of their students. They are relied upon by Leads & Directors to help implement coaching plans. Sports camps are opportunities for coaches to use their personal experiences to teach, challenge and empower campers. Coaches also coach and run electives; recreational activities designed for students to have fun.
• Attend Required Paid Training
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service for all students and camp staff
• Engage students in sports activities and promote teamwork and sportsmanship
Additional Responsibilities:
• Attend job-related trainings and meetings to enhance professional knowledge.
• Support other programs, events, and operations as requested
Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with children.
• Sports background preferred.
• Must be fun, energetic, patient, and attentive
• Passion for working with youth and making a positive impact in the community
• High school diploma, equivalent, or active enrollment in school.
• Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific sports activities may be preferred.
• First aid, CPR, and additional training may be required or beneficial.
• Physical ability to participate in sports activities, run, jump, and support the weight of children.
• Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations.
• High level of responsibility and accountability.
• Upbeat, engaging personality.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
