One to One Aide

High Road School of Harford County is currently looking for Teaching Assistants to work with students with autism and emotional disabilities in elementary, middle and high school classrooms. High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Our ideal candidates are flexabile, willing to learn, and work well with others.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational plans and lesson plans
- Provide support and guidance to students with special needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities and emotional disabilities
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Assist with behavior management and implement strategies to promote positive behavior
- Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to assess student progress and develop individualized education plans
- Assist with classroom organization and maintenance of materials

Skills:
- Experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education or special education settings
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or hearing impairments
- Understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children

Note: Classroom experience is not required for this role.
