Position Purpose: Our Facilities Technician assists our Facilities Manager with ensuring our facilities and equipment are running well and our events are set up for success. Facilities include two event venues, four apartment units, a warehouse, corporate office, ancillary shop, vehicle fleet, and any other company-owned assets. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager, with close collaboration with other key leaders.

Job Duties

  • Inspect buildings, vehicles, and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs, making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.
  • Be on-call for emergency repairs.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures. (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
  • Performs painting and minor masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Performs carpentry work such as designing and building portable bars, furniture, and framing walls.
  • Performs IT maintenance and installation tasks such as low voltage wiring, hardware installation, software installation, etc.
  • Performs minor HVAC and refrigeration repairs.
  • Performs minor vehicle maintenance repairs such as oil changes, tire changes, detailed cleaning, etc.
  • Completes scheduled inspections and maintenance of all building security and life safety equipment.
  • Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
  • Performs weekly and quarterly maintenance on our floors by using various chemical strippers, wax products and buffers.
  • Perform duties as a sound engineer during scheduled events.
  • Work events as needed, including large scale events and festivals.
  • Ensure our standards of practice meet all DHEC and OSHA requirements for food safety, alcohol safety, and employee health and safety.
  • Work manually as needed to move supplies and products to different locations, set up events, and clean facilities.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and periodic deep cleaning of all facilities and vehicles.
  • Attend weekly team meetings.
  • Continue to foster the company culture of High Spirits Hospitality by being an active, passionate member of our management and event team. Provide support to other company divisions as requested.
  • Handle other special projects as requested.

  • Responsible for turning in financial receipts in a timely manner and monitor the department budget to avoid excess expenditures

Typical Schedule

Our Facilities Technician will work mostly Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends on call. You should expect to work 2-6 evening/weekend event shifts a month. Our pay period runs Wednesday-Tuesday, and we do give you the flexibility to take off on Mondays when if you worked that weekend. There is some seasonality to this position, with our high season being April-June and September-December.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a relevant role. Must demonstrate the ability to complete basic repair tasks.
  • Must live within 20 minutes of Judson Mill.
  • Must respect the diversity of our clients and be willing to serve all clients, regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
  • Should demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Should demonstrate exceptional organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and have your own vehicle. There will be some light daily travel involved.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50 lbs.
  • High School diploma or GED required. A college degree is NOT a requirement for this position.
