Job Description:
High Stakes Law invites applications for the role of Podcast Producer to spearhead the launch and expansion of our inaugural podcast. This position is based at our Houston headquarters, with opportunities for travel and flexible remote work as needed. We're searching for a dynamic and innovative individual who can ensure our podcast and associated media deliver compelling content on high-profile legal cases that intersect the domains of business, politics, crime, sports, and entertainment. Your role as a producer will encompass co-writing, planning, producing, and promoting the podcast. Responsibilities:
- Brainstorm and propose relevant, innovative topic ideas for team consideration.
- Co-write and produce weekly content for High Stakes Law (HSL) podcast.
- Develop and implement long-term podcast planning strategies, including monthly forecasts and weekly schedules.
- Contribute to weekly podcast planning by drafting show notes, arranging interviews, and editing scripts.
- Conduct preliminary interviews with scheduled guests, providing succinct notes to the host in a timely manner.
- Oversee the execution of podcast production including, recording and editing interviews, whether in-studio, on-location, or via remote connections.
- Innovate the traditional approach to high stakes litigation reporting, turning each story into a captivating podcast and video in collaboration with our production team.
- Formulate on-platform and off-platform promotional strategies for the podcast across various social media platforms.
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with the video production team to breathe life into our stories.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Product, or a related field, preferred. Candidates with no formal education with significant experience in podcast production will also be considered.
- Prior experience with podcast production or audio storytelling.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft cohesive, concise scripts and blurbs.
- Familiarity with audio editing software (e.g. Logic, Pro Tools, Audacity) and recording equipment.
- Proficiency in social media and podcasting platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Proven experience in planning and promoting media products.

Hiring Salary Range: Starting at $45,000.00
Please note that this salary range pertains specifically to the state of Texas. The final starting salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on a combination of factors. These may include, but are not limited to, prevailing market conditions, the candidate's prior experience, training, education, and other job-related competencies.
