Job Description

The Lead Residential Designer coordinates with other members of the Architectural Design team, and is responsible for creating high quality construction drawings and presentations for both small and large scale residential remodeling and custom home projects. The Lead Residential Designer's goal is to thoroughly understand our clients’ tastes and vision (and in cases where that isn’t clear, to help them discover what that is), then develop a design plan accordingly that aligns with the budget.

Primary Tasks & Expectations:

  • Manage multiple residential remodeling and new construction projects during the design phase
  • Perform site measures and create as-built drawings
  • Develop design options and make revisions throughout each project
  • Independently set-up, produce and develop plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models (including mechanical and electrical requirements) for construction
  • Review structural plans and coordinate with engineers
  • Work with interior design and architectural team to ensure consistency of the design concept
  • Contribute to the entire creative process, keeping a finger on the pulse of current trends
  • Navigate City/County approval and permitting processes
  • Navigate Homeowner’s Association approval processes
  • Manage/prioritize deadlines and determine importance of tasks
  • Track budget and scheduling updates as they relate to the plans
  • Ensure an optimal first impression and cultivate and nurture each professional relationship with a long-term view of success
  • Assist with client relations throughout life of the project

Experience

  • Minimum 4-year undergraduate degree with BS or BA in Architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years working in architecture, 3 of which at a minimum in residential
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape and Photoshop
  • Experience working directly with homeowners from concept through Construction Documents

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of Revit
  • Strong working knowledge of Enscape
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop
  • Ability to receive instruction and execute with precision, positive attitude, sense of accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in the production of all drawings and documents
  • Understanding of building materials and construction methods
  • Knowledge of procedures for production of construction documents
  • Understanding of Colorado residential building codes and land use codes
  • Understanding of residential construction costs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Position Details

Compensation: Based on experience and education

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt
