Overview
The Manager, Cash Management and Forecasting is the lead person for monitoring status of cash transactions and providing guidance on cash position of assigned Hotel portfolios on an ongoing basis. The position is responsible for all aspects of cash management, forecasting and issue resolution as it relates to cash reporting for the assigned portfolio of hotels. The manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely, responsive and accurate completion of the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Create weekly cash forecast by portfolio to assess current cash position and ability to pay Vendor/AP (Accounts Payable) invoices during that week based on forecasted revenues/expenses.
- Review AP Invoice Aging Report & provide weekly listing to AP for approved payments based on cash forecast and fund availability.
- Review and approval of monthly bank and G/L reconciliations for assigned cash operating accounts per portfolio.
- Provide monthly guidance to AP staff regarding processing of auto-debits for brand and Highgate Hotel invoices – Approve payment batches created by AP.
- Prepare and submit Funding and Wire transfer requests and submit to Highgate Treasury team for processing – (requests would be initiated by corporate Hotel accounting staff or other accounting team members)
- Post and approve journal entries associated with wire transfers and as required to support bank to GL reconciliation process.
- Assist Corp Hotel Controllers or General Managers with Merchant ID information required for credit card/chargeback processing and analysis.
- Interface with Corporate Treasury team to resolve and follow-up on credit card settlement discrepancies per bank to GL cash reconciliations.
- Assist accounting team with correcting account/banking set-ups.
- Provide Operating & Depository account statements as required for audits or other requests from accounting staff members.
- Supervision of Cash analyst or other staff members as assigned.
- Assist in onboarding new Hotels into Highgate’s portfolio.
- Preparation of any special reports, statements, etc., as requested.
- Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance required.
- 5 years of hospitality related cash management and forecasting at Hotel and Ownership level.
- Hotel management company experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cash forecasting tools and cash management processes.
- Experience using Blackline and Oracle software preferred.
- Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and financial accounting systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary to complete assigned duties.
