JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the daily operations of the Money Management Program/Benefits Counseling and Application Assistance Program. This includes participation in volunteer recruitment, training and supervision, client placement, monitoring, community outreach, grant writing, and fund raising.
AUTHORITY: This position reports to the PS Program Director
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service or related field required. Two years of community-based experience required. Supervisory experience required. QuickBooks knowledge required. Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of State and Federal Laws and the agency’s regulations as they relate to protective, money management and home care services. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
I. Oversee and Further Develop the Money Management Program.
a) Responsible for day-to-day operation of the program.
b) Help in recruiting, screening, training, and supervising MMP volunteers.
c) Conduct regular in-service training meetings for the volunteers.
d) Hold quarterly meetings of the local MMP Advisory Council.
e) Negotiate with local banks to provide services for the program.
f) Initiate outreach activities for referrals.
g) Publicize the program in the local area to increase public awareness.
h) Receive and screen all referrals.
I) Match volunteers with clients.
J) Refer clients and other referrals to community services when needed.
k) Oversee the monitoring of volunteer and client activity as safeguards of the program.
l) Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical reports for the program, which
are requested by the Massachusetts Money Management Coordinator and
the Advisory Council.
m).Maintain close working relationships with referring agencies and staff.
n). Attend statewide MMP Coordinators meetings as assigned.
o). Participate in training and development activities to increase
knowledge and skills for continuous, strong performance in this
position.
p) Work with other programs within Highland Valley to maximize efforts in supporting elders.
q) Attend in-house meetings as assigned.
r) Work with other program directors and management to meet requirements for in-service and interdisciplinary meetings.
II. Oversee the Benefits Counseling and Application Assistance Program.
a) Help recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who conduct benefits screenings and provide application assistance.
b) Supervise and educate all volunteers for greater retention.
c) Develop system to receive and assess calls and requests for benefit counseling, refer to local site to schedule and set up appointments.
d) Assign requests to volunteers with appropriate training; link consumers needing health care counseling to SHINE counselor.
e) Understand non-health care related financial relief programs, resources and benefits.
f) Utilize marketing tools to recruit consumers and promote program.
g) Complete reports and documentation as required.
h) Maintain performance data on program activities and consumer outcomes.
i) Participate in statewide meetings as needed.
III. Participate in required quality performance initiatives within program area.
IV. Additional Job Requirements:
a) Environmental Conditions:
i. Work is 75% indoor office work; 25% outdoor (i.e. travel to attend required meetings, presentations and trainings).
a) Physical Requirements:
I. While performing duties of position, employee will be required to sit/stand for extended periods.
II. Capacity to see computer screen and read written material.
III. Capacity to communicate verbally with staff/supervisors, consumers and community.
IV. Capacity for fine manipulation with use of office equipment.
V. Capacity for occasional reaching, lifting or bending.
b) Work Environment Expectations:
I. Available to work a 37.5-hour position with primary hours daily Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm $47,000 per year salary
II. Ability to drive as the position requires.
c) Working knowledge of computers, applicable software and databases.
d) Other tasks as assigned by supervisor to meet agency needs.
