The DC Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned warehouse location, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and budgets. The individual in this position will develop and improve operational processes by working with team members, and internal or external customers while maintaining a constant focus on efforts to improve performance, quality, and efficiency of work processes. The DC Operations Manager will have the authority to hire, suspend, fire, assign, promote, reward, and discipline the associates that report to them. This is primarily an office-based position but will often require the individual to work and interact with team members in a warehouse setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
- Direct and maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing the company's policies and procedures.
- Execute effective procedures for daily warehouse operations, including managing reclamation/disposition of damaged or returned product, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness or safety.
- Partner with internal and external customers to identify customer requirements to ensure that their needs are met in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work across the organization to ensure availability and accuracy of inventory.
- Promptly respond to customer complaints and other reported problems; conduct root cause analysis to determine appropriate corrective action to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Effectively utilize lean tools and methodology to make improvements and lead the department in continuous improvement activities.
- Provide comprehensive productivity and location accuracy results.
- Maintain and manage budget.
- Develop and maintain safety, quality, service, and cost performance metrics; assess trends, and implement action plans to meet or exceed the established goals.
- Develop training programs to build on team member strengths and success; ensure team members have continuing opportunities to improve or increase skills, abilities, and knowledge.
- Ensure open lines of communication between the distribution function and other departments.
- Use independent judgment to assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements. Make sure that team members and co-workers have the information needed to perform their job duties.
- Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company’s mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well. Use independent judgment to ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations, including initiating, or recommending rewards and discipline as needed.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift and other motorized equipment, adhering to OSHA safety regulations.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Valid driver’s license.
