GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Supervisor Shared Financial Services supervises a staff of both exempt and non-exempt personnel and is the content knowledge expert and key Finance liaison on corporate Finance and other company area initiatives involving any interaction with processes performed at the Shared Financial Services level. In addition, the Supervisor is accountable for the following: the reconciliation and recording of data to the financial statements regarding all transactions interfacing with the Shared Financial Services systems; ensuring compliance with state and federal laws in effect regarding Unclaimed Property Compliance, issuance of 1099s and surcharges assessed on certain individual or family coverage for members with Highmark coverage living in other states; providing clear direction and acting as primary contact to BAs and Technical staff for enhancements, upgrades, changes needed to existing Shared Financial Services systems; and ensuring that the department processes and procedures are clearly documented, have sound internal controls and that semi-annual updates of Business Continuity, Pandemic Plan and SOX documentation including narratives, flowcharts, control matrices, and other required schedules are completed/updated in a timely manner.

7. Monitor internal control practices and ensure that the department processes and procedures are accurately documented and that adequate reviews are completed to ensure compliance with MAR internal control practices.
