Students competing with the HPU Club Sports program compete successfully in local, state and national events. The HPU Club Coach shall report to the Director of Recreation and be ultimately responsible to the Senior Director of Recreation. The HPU Club Coach shall be responsible for leading, coordinating and coaching the competitive club program, in a manner consistent with High Point University’s vision, mission and values. QUALIFICATIONS: Education • High School Diploma required. College degree preferred. Experience and Training • First Aid/CPR/AED certification Knowledge, Skills, Ability • Proficient in the technical knowledge of Baseball • Capability to instruct student-athletes and increase their athletic performance • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills • Knowledge of Baseball rules ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Instructs student-athletes, improving skill, sport performance and leadership • Evaluates, recruits and recommends prospective student-athletes • Monitors the conditioning and training of student-athletes • Participates in analysis of past performance, opponent’s performance, designing game plans/strategies, etc. • Supervises travel arrangements for team, including housing and transportation • Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers and managers • Other duties as assigned ACCOUNTABILITY: • Responsible for coaching HPU's Club Baseball competitive team • This position travels with the team to all competitions throughout the year. • Maintain rosters and effective communication with the students and staff. • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Recreation as well as the Coordinator of Club Sports
