The Department of Physics at High Point University invites applications for a full-time position in Physics at the Assistant Professor rank with a start date in August 2024. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure track position eligible for promotion to Associate and Professor ranks and multi-year contract extensions. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate physics courses at all levels, with an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary honors and general education courses for non-science majors. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students, collaborate with faculty on curriculum and program development, and contribute to the Department and wider University through service responsibilities. The B.S. Physics program at High Point University values engaging and effective teaching, the integration of computation, experiment, and theory across the curriculum, and undergraduate research (http://www.highpoint.edu/physics/). The program seeks a dynamic individual who will embrace these values and is passionate about mentoring undergraduates. Successful applicants will have access to startup and institutional research and professional development funding, and laboratory and office space in the recently completed $65M Wanek School of Natural Sciences. A Ph.D. in physics or closely related field is required by the time of appointment.
