Sr. Systems Administrator
HighPoint professionals focus on helping government agencies and companies implement their most critically strategic initiatives. The role of Sr. Systems Administrator contributes to HighPoint by providing critical support to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Subsistence Total Order and Receipt System (STORES).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2022; familiarity with Windows Server 2016.
  • Familiarity SQL Developer.
  • Ability to work with the client and contract team members to understand requirements and their implementation.
  • Ability to apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.
  • Familiarity with Certificate Manager tool.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Windows Server Familiarization to Install and maintain STORES application on a Windows servers and IIS.
  • Use Java Tools, Van Dyke File Transfer Utility, and PowerShell to help with maintenance, installation of the application on the initial image and updating the application with PowerShell scripts to speed up release installations by DISA.
  • Assist in evaluating and applies vulnerability management solutions.
  • Provide support which includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installations of servers and applications.
  • Ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.
  • Provide end user training.
  • Required to provide both local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.
  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
  • Analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues.
  • Review/Compare patches and IIS configurations across servers, so that they stay in sync.
  • Security considerations:
    • Review of STIGs for server and web server configuration.
    • Help develop solutions for STIG requirements.
    • May require Linux or Mac laptop access to run OpenSSL utility.
    • Review IIS logs for unexpected events.
    • Review server error messages and IIS/Application performance issues.
    • Work with the Software Architect and Cybersecurity Engineer to address cyber concerns/findings.
  • Oracle/Crystal Report driver updates:
    • Assist in developing instructions for DISA to apply Oracle client driver patches, and installation instructions.
    • Assist in developing installation instructions for Crystal Reports.
  • Review SFTP transfer software (Van Dyke) and develop setup, software solution and review performance of transfers to DAASC.
  • Work with the Configuration Manager in the promotion of release packages through the DISA environments.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, six of which are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, four of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.
  • Must possess the following:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Certified Associate or AWS/Google cloud certifications.
    • IT-I security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
    • Clearance: Secret.
    • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority.
    • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II.
    • DLA CE Cert IA Role/Function.
