Responsible for efficiently and effectively managing all aspects of trailers and equipment planning. The position works closely with Highway Transport’s terminal management and personnel, Shop and Tank Wash, Line Haul, Safety, Sales, Human Resources and Accounting departments. This position also works closely with Client plant personnel. All areas within the position’s scope of responsibility must be managed within established policies and procedures of the company.
Pay: $56,000 - $70,000 per year
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates interior and exterior cleaning processes of tanks.
- Coordinates tank cleaning with terminal personnel cleaning schedule.
- Schedules spotter empty and loaded movements.
- Schedules trailers to meet load times for specified customers.
- Performs daily yard check to account for all loaded and empty trailers.
- Schedules cleaning times for carrier partner’s trailers.
- Complies with company transit time standards.
- Completes EDI reports as needed by customer.
- Maintains internal customer contacts and communications
- Completes monthly service reports as needed.
- Schedules tra iler maintenance with internal and external shops.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
- High school diploma. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2 years’ experience in bulk tanker industry
- E xperience in tank truck loading/unloading of MC 307 & DOT 407 tank trailers.
Skills Required:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to direct and manage drivers and manage independent contractor relations within established policies and procedures of the company.
- Proficient in company software including word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail and mainframe computer system.
- Knowledge of Federal DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Must be able to work with interruptions and deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Majority of time will be spent at the service center.
- Normal schedule: Monday - Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m
- Work after hours and weekend may be required.
- Occasional travel is necessary.
