Summary
HII is seeking a Data Scientist professional to join our Cyber and Intelligence Team! This work is performed on customer site at Fort Meade to directly collaborate with data scientists, cryptologic and cryptanalytic programmers, reverse engineers, and intelligence planners to synergistically enable real-time solutions to be implemented at the speed of need.
As part of our Cyber and Intelligence team, you will be engaged in:
- Providing support and related services to the implementation of enterprise data representations in various mission domains
- Perform end-to-end systems engineering for data flows from the perspective of data format modeling, data mapping, and support to implementers and mission customers
- This position requires strong data science expertise from cradle to grave with limited, high-level direction

What you will do
- Employ some combination (2 or more) of the following skill areas:
- Foundations (mathematical, computational, statistical)
- Data Processing (Data management and curation, data description and visualization, workflow and reproducibility)
- Modeling, inference, and prediction (Data modeling and assessment, domain-specific considerations)
- Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets
- Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application specific knowledge
- Through analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and/or another appropriate scientific method, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure that account for the unique features and limitations inherent in NSA/CSS data holdings
- Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large dataset into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
- Make informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions by maintaining awareness of the constantly shifting NSA/CSS collection, processing, storage and analytic capabilities and limitations
What we are looking for
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly

- Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred:
- Designing/implementing machine learning

- Advanced analytical algorithms
- Programming (skill it at least one high-level language (e.g., Python))
- Statistical analysis (e.g., variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models)
